UGHH!!!

I can’t believe the problems I have been experiencing with Ebay recently. I already told you of the problems I have had with justhatsUK and now I have another one with the butchersdragon! I order a hat from them. It arrived and was not the stated size. I wrote and received nothing in return. i opened a ‘returns’ case and duly sent the hat back. Not only have they not paid my return costs abut have charged me their original post and packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am fast thinking I will not be buying off Ebay again. It is too difficult when things go wrong. I can’t believe the appalling attitude of these two sellers and the hoops Ebay and PayPal make one jump thru hoops to get any form of resolution. So far, I am not had anything resolved.

Over the last few months I have had sellers selling items they do not have. Lying about where they are and where the item is coming from (China!).

Ebay is fast becoming a place to avoid.

You'll get no arguments from me. Several years ago, it was a friendly, pretty honest place. Today, it doesn't matter whether you're the buyer or the seller -- If you're honest, don't bend over. Sorry for the vulgarity, but that's how it feels.

I also have had bad experiences with sellers, but when my paypal account was stolen, American Express took care of it within one day so if you do use paypal link it to american Express credit card. My credit card was used to fund a seller's house cleaning/maid expenses. She had already sold me her junk but then she had the nerve to use more of my money so she didn't have to clean her own toidy. Good luck and let's stick to Ravelry and maybe Etsy too.

I also had a problem with an item I purchased on Ebay using Paypal (the item was never sent and the seller didn't respond to emails).

I opened a dispute with Paypal, and after they tried contacting the seller, to no avail, they refunded my money.

Definitely will use Paypal with a credit card if I ever use Ebay again. However, I must also say that I have made several successful purchases through Ebay in the past.

I have stopped using eBay a couple of years ago after being ripped off a couple of times. EBay is only interested in taking money from you, but don't care if you are happy with their service or not. They are too big to listen to the little people. My opinion is to avoid it at all costs because it will cost you more than you think.

if you have a credit card linked to paypal and you used that to make the payment,I'd get in touch with them - they can help sort it out.

I have sold the occasional thing on Ebay like an old mobile phone, but my heart is in my mouth all the time. Last time, the money had to sit in my account for 21 days I think before I could access it as the buyer could demand the money back. I use guaranteed delivery generally so I get a signature and know it should be there next day.

Out of interest have you seen this site for your Dr Marten fix http://store.drmartens.co.uk/default.aspx

I've had one problem getting a book I ordered from Ebay. The seller didn't respond to any of my queries, so I appealed to Pay Pal and my money was refunded after a period of investigation. This was a while ago so I don't know if things have deteriorated since then.

Yes, be carefull with ebay! I've been burned both selling and buying!!
I bought some 5 sets of blinds from a "blind" store. 3 wks and no blinds, the supplier finally said they shipped. Got one, put in a dispute with PayPal. Then rec'd a box, with the wrong blinds. Smaller & plastic not wood. Did not get my money back, PayPal said the seller had proof of shipment!!
OK, so you can buy a $100 item, get a cheap $20 "like" item, but since there is proof you rec'd something....no refund on your dispute.
