AUTUMN CHANGES

I am especially pleased with these. They are the result of my first adventure with home dyeing. I used Kool Aid and I used a syringe to drop the colours on DRY yarn.I then wrapped in cling film and nuked for several minutes.

The yarn is 80% Merino and 20% Bamboo, probably my favourite mix. I knitted it on 1.75mm Hiya Hiya circular needles. They are knitted toe up using my Andersson Construction Method with the Andersson heel Mach II (revised). I would probably choose to use 2mm needles next time.

Good Job Colin. I love the colors and the color treatment. The socks are, as always, so beautifully knitted.

The did turn out like we'd imagined! So very pretty. I have some sock blanks from KnitPicks and I bet if I spent awhile dropping color randomly, they'd turn out like that, too. Thanks for inspiring me!

They're lovely. OK, the addiction, (to dyeing) is well and truly started.

Love them. I'm wondering, did you just have the hank spread loosely, and you dropped randomly, or did you use the syringe for precision in a 'planned randomness'.
I've seen the koolaid method before- it's been hard to believe it is as easy as they make it appear. I am glad it really is- I'll have to give it a try.

Really fabulous dye job. They are as beautiful as anything I have seen in the store or elsewhere.

Oh, I love those! I could totally use a pair of those for my new clogs. You got a much better result with your Kool-Aid dyeing than I've ever managed.

Beautiful yarn; brilliant job!
I love a wool/bamboo sock yarn, too. Here in the States we have a brand called Deborah Norville Serenity sock yarn -- the softest I've ever knitted with.

Lovely socks, Colin! I see you got some interesting pooling, too, which gives sort of a magical twinkle to them. Very pretty. It's not fair that some folks have all the talent and other of us just plug away (not to say that my socks aren't great, they're just not original or magical.)

Happy Holiday Season,
Frankie
