Antonio Banderas with Andersson Heel

Smooth with plenty of spice.

This is the sock yarn from Germany at 0.70 pence a 50 gm ball! That is €1 or $1.40. Very soft. 75% wool 25% nylon.

I knit the whole thing on 2.25mm Hiya Hiya needles. It is knit from the toe up.

The heel I am especially pleased with. It has a gusset, and a wide German style heel. No picking up of stitches. I have rather modestly named it the Andersson Heel. ;-)

It really is easy to do. Took a bit of working out-it got frogged twice -but by the 3rd attempt, I had it figured out.

I always love your socks! The heel looks great. :-) I also enjoyed reading
about your trip to Bayern (Bavaria). I graduated with a major in German. I
studied for a semester in Rosenheim, and have several friends all over
Germany. In fact, it was my German host mother who taught me to knit. :-) I
am so glad she did!

Sorry I asked in email when the puppies were due, since it's right there on the blog, if I'd only read it first.

Like the heel a lot. Still can't see how you did it without picking up stitches. Dang, as we'd say in the US south.

Thank You!
Really appreciate the clear instructions. For once I can look at a sock, look at the heel directions, and actually understand what I should be doing! (vs jumping in and then floundering about in desperate confusion trying to knit line by line instructions) I've had to settle for one toe-up heel design just because I can understand it and reproduce it consistently, although I don't like the look of it much. This one looks great and I understand it right off! Thanks for sharing your invention. :-)
