The Sissyfication of Seattle

Is this site a joke?

Surely it is?

I'm afraid not. Brownback is the one hope for the far right religious faction of the Republicans.

You have got to be shittin' me!!! If it wasn't intended as a joke the creator certainly has made one of it. Asses.

Well, the writing sure sounds a LOT like the authors of the Landover Baptist website, which is total and complete (and hilarious) satire. But I couldn't find any subtle hint that they actually did this, and Brownback IS a real dude. I love, love, love the Hellbound link. Had me LOLing at work.

My son (who must be DOOMED I tell you) wants a kilt. Is not pleased that he is an IRISH citizen, not a Scotsman. I told him I have some Scots ancestors, so I'd find him a tartan.

Well, whether that site is serious or not, certainly the majority of people in the US would not take it seriously.

Yeesh, Colin! Even if it's a joke, it's super creepy. Conservative wing nuts really freak me out!

I totally embarrassed myself on a music list I belong to, after seeing pics of one of the fella's band mates and asking who was the hottie in the kilt. Turns out the hottie in the kilt was also on the list, unbeknownst to me.

These Brownback Baptists would probably burn me at the stake for having a kilt fetish. Damn...what's wrong with "easier access for fornicating" anyway? [tee-hee]

And why, o why won't my husband with the mile-long legs and even a bit of Scots blood in him wear a kilt??? [ahem]

Back to your regular programming now.

Dear Lord. Literally. If God is up there watching, he must not know whether to laugh or cry. I strongly suspect this is real--and even if it's not, I know lots of people who would agree with it. More's the pity. Just once in my life, I'd like to be able to vote for someone I believe in, rather than against someone I find utterly appalling. Not likely to happen, apparently. Any Canadians out there want to adopt a desperate American? I don't eat much, and I come with a great yarn stash.

Dear Colin,

You should know by now there's no accounting for total stupidity. They should pass that site by the kilt-wearing guys that I know (and there are several) and see the reaction they get.

There'd be some major fundamentalist ass-kicking going on, I can assure you. Never, EVER, mess with a guy in a kilt.

Best,

Deb

I think I'll show this article to my flatmate - he's a Scotsman and I can just hear his pithy comments.

Kilts were a very practical article to a Scotsman in the barbarian times and this article has missed the beat completely.

By the way, I am just going to watch Carry On Up The Khyber which heavily features kilts and what they do/don't wear under them as the main plot!

I can't believe the content of this. I have just spent ages reading through some of the comments, especially some of the worrying replies from the owners of the site. There are some very weird people out there. Not thinking of getting a kilt are you???
